Couples looking for an idyllic rustic retreat in Malta for a honeymoon haven or a delightful wedding in an absolutely stunning location need look  no further than Hotel Ta Cenc, a truly romantic hotel on the Maltese island of Gozo.

General

Gozo, or Ghawdex as the locals call it, is the second largest island in the Maltese archipelago and perhaps the most beautiful one. This oval shaped island is only 70 square kilometres in size but behind every one of its honeycomb of hills, a variety of magnificent vistas unfolds – all of which make a stunning backdrop to wedding and honeymoon photographs!

Nestled within a Natura 2000 site, the Hotel Ta’ Cenc & Spa takes its guests back to nature, encouraging them to explore and enjoy their surroundings while still sensing the soothing ambiance that awaits them back at base. The hotel is literally at one with nature, spread over a staggering 1.5m sqm of idyllic countryside very rich in flora and fauna. Ensconced into a bird sanctuary, the hotel boasts its own picturesque rocky beach and medieval palazzo within its grounds.

The hotel is a haven for those keen to discover ecotourism, or to delve into the eclectic and exciting history of this tiny Mediterranean island. It is a dream destination for those planning a romantic island wedding because of its setting in a one-of-a-kind location.  Be part of nature, history and a culture you’ll grow to love.

Accommodation

The spacious airy rooms, some built in the Trullo style, are decorated in understated elegance. The colours echo the hues of the setting sun on the magnificent limestone cliffs and the wild thyme that covers the surrounding garrigue. Each room has its own cosy garden or separate porch, where one can relax in privacy while enjoying stunning views.

Wining & Dining

Variety is the spice of life, and the three restaurants that form part of Hotel Ta’ Cenc ensure you’ll always look forward to your next dining experience.

Gozitan cuisine is enticingly Mediterranean, fusing the freshest local ingredients with the region’s most exciting flavours.   A comfortable lounge also offers a fully stocked bar, hot drinks and snacks.  Breakfast can be served ‘A la Carte’ in your room or buffet style in the restaurant.

Civil marriages can be held within the grounds of Ta’ Cenc, inside the unique setting of the 17th Century Palazzo Palina, which according to historians was built around 1697 by the Grand Master of the Knights of St. John Ramon Perellos Y Roccaful.  Civil marriages can also be arranged by the sea at Katra Lido. Our private rocky beach, known for hundreds of years as ‘Kantra’ because of its savage beauty and its limpid clear waters, is located in the rocky fjord inlet of ‘Mgarr ix-Xini’
