Couples seeking a Robinson Crusoe existence in a heavenly retreat, far away from the stresses of modern life, will know they have found the perfect haven when their seaplane descends towards the azure waters of the lagoon surrounding Mirihi, an island where nature blends so seamlessly with barefoot chic.

For those looking for rest, relaxation and rejuvenation, there cannot be a more tranquil place in the Maldives to get back to nature, and for those seeking the best diving and snorkelling experiences, Mirihi boasts a spectacular house reef just a few metres into the sea, so the possibilities are endless…

The best advice for newlyweds arriving on the island is, put your mobile phone away, leave your shoes behind for the duration of your stay and be prepare to be seduced by nature!

Mirihi is located in the South Ari Atoll, reached from Male International Airport on a 30-minute picturesque seaplane flight. It is one of the smallest islands in the Maldives – just 350m long and 50m wide, with palm-fringed beaches, powder white sand, and just 37 villas on the island, so you can be assured of personalised attention in abundance.

DIVING, SNORKELING & WATERSPORTS

The snorkelling and diving experience at Mirihi is second to none. The resort’s Ocean Pro Dive Centre provides facilities and instruction for first-timers through to experienced divers. Regular trips are available for divers and snorkelers to visit a range of over 40 incredible dive sites with a chance of sighting spectacular Whale Sharks.  However, you don’t have to be a scuba diver to discover the magic of the deep – the resort has one of the best house reefs in the Maldives, it’s a snorkelers paradise – and the snorkelling adventure awaits at the foot of steps from your villa’s sundeck into the lagoon, where the magnificent reef awaits. Night Snorkelling is also a MUST, allowing you to venture into another world and observe sleeping fish, see different kinds of marine life and discover the vibrancy of the coral’s colours.

Complimentary watersports are also available including kayaks, stand-up paddles and windsurfing. You can also go fishing or hire a speedboat or Dhoni for a private boat trip, or join one of the excursions on offer, including: island hopping; a visit to a local cultural island; whale shark safari, dolphins at sunset cruise or a snorkelling safari.

STAR GAZING

Nothing can be more romantic than a stroll along the beach in the moonlight, mesmerized by the display of a million twinkling stars, away from any light pollution – except perhaps taking that wonderment one step further and gazing at the planets up close through the lens of an ultra high-powered telescope, set up on the beach with an astronomy guide. Watch the moons orbiting Saturn and see the craters on Mars. Awesome!

Spa & WELLNESS

Get in touch with your spiritual side by starting each morning with a complimentary yoga session in the pavilion, and guided meditation session in the afternoon.
