Pippa and James’ Secret Honeymoon
As James and the new Mrs Matthews are dancing the night away as we speak, we are thinking where we would recommend a multi-millionaire hedge fund manager and his beautiful bride to go for their honeymoon.
Martin Cody-Owen, publisher of Brides Abroad magazine comments, ” In our travels we often see global celebrity A-listers having fun in the sun at the resorts where we are staying.
“High profile guests expect style, luxury and above all, discretion.
So it helps to be rubbing shoulders with fellow guests who are just as rich and famous as you are – if not more so! “It’s so much easier to relax.
You will generally find that at some of the finest luxury honeymoon resorts on the planet there are no egos, and no competition – just other beautiful, successful, wealthy people having fun in the sun. So where would we suggest for a no-expense-spared dream honeymoon? Two of our favourite resorts in the world are in the Maldives.
Tiny, exclusive and über chic is the luxury resort of Huvafen Fushi. Famous amongst luxury travel junkies for its ‘barefoot luxury’ concept, it’s a favourite haunt of Kate Moss. You can walk along the pure white sand, with the Kodachrome blue waters of the Indian Ocean lapping at your feet and it’s not unusual to see rock stars, screen idols and industry moguls also strolling without a care in the world, relishing the beauty and tranquility of one of the world’s hidden gems. Huvafen Fushi is a funky, chic and idyllic hideaway for those in the know and highly recommended. As we say, “if you can, you must!”
We also adore the Sunset Water Villas at the exclusive One & Only Reethi Rah Resort & Spa. It’s where we spent our own honeymoon. Although it’s easy to ask your private butler to call you a private golf buggy to whisk you to one of the resort’s exquisite restaurants, there’s a much cooler way to explore the island. Each stylishly-appointed villa is issued with a pair of old bicycles. It’s great to see the rich and famous arrive at the bar by bike for pre-dinner cocktails wearing a little number by Dolce and Gabanna or Versace with their Jimmy Choos in the handle bar basket, laughing about how they struggled to maintain their balance on one of the many sandy pathways which wind their way through the jungle vegetation. It’s a great leveller and a fun way to exchange tales of mishaps, wobbles and near misses with other guests – even if they are Oscar winners, top of the charts or on the Forbes Rich List.
So congratulations Pippa and James from all the Brides Abroad team.
Maybe we’ll see you in paradise next week!”
